A Mid-century money clip set with a Japanese 50 sen coin struck with an elaborate phoenix design. A handsome application for this beautiful coin. The sterling silver money clip is curvaceous with a pleasingly substantial weight. The back of the clip is stamped "Sterling Asahi." Circa 1950.

The 50 sen coin was minted from 1922 to 1938 and removed from circulation in 1945.
