The Idol of Pomos, is a prehistoric sculpture from the Cypriot village of Pomos. It dates back to the Chalcolithic period, around the 30th century BC. The pagan sculpture represents a woman with her arms spread and is a cult image representing a fertility or mother goddess. These idols were worn as amulets around the neck, just as this idol wears a small copy of itself. Over one hundred cruciform figures have been discovered which were made in southwestern Cyprus during the period 3000-2500 B.C.
